CalFresh issues monthly electronic benefits onto an EBT card that can be used to buy most foods at many markets and food stores.
Medi-Cal pays for comprehensive healthcare services including medical office visits, vision and dental care, mental health services, hospitalization and prescription medicines for eligible low income or homeless: adults, blind or disabled individuals, pregnant women, and children up to their 21st birthday.
CalWorks provides cash and other assistance to families or foster parents with or expecting children to help pay for housing, food, utilities, clothing, medical care, and other necessary expenses. It also provides Homeless Assistance, Cal-Learn (for teen parents), Welfare-to-Work, job prep, child care, and specialized supportive services such as domestic violence, family preservation, and treatment for mental health and substance abuse problems.
