Description
The agency provides child care and family service programs for people who live in portions of the San Gabriel Valley and Northeast Los Angeles. Direct services include child care information and referral, child care subsidies, a food program for child care providers, and half day and full day child development programs for children.
The Child Care Services program offers:
Assistance for paying for child care services for children 0-12 years (up to 21 years for exceptional needs children) to the child care provider of choice; Subsidized child care programs that offer child care reimbursement for various types of child care options; A food and nutrition program for licensed family child care providers; Child development support to parents and child care providers.

The service area for this program is based on child care provider's location, including: Alhambra, Altadena, Arcadia, Azusa, Baldwin Park, Duarte, El Monte, La Canada, La Habra Heights, La Mirada, Monrovia, Pasadena, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, Sierra Madre, South El Monte, South Pasadena, Temple City, and Whittier.
Additional cities for children enrolled in the Family Child Care Home Educational Network Programs (FCCHEN) include: Covina, Hacienda Heights, Rowland Heights, Glassel Park, Highland Park, Santa Fe Springs, Glendora, La Puente, Valinda, Monterey Park, and West Covina. G-FCCC Program only: San Dimas 91773, La Verne 91750, Claremont 91711, and North Pomona 91767.
COST
Income-based program; free or low-cost for most families;
Monthly subsidized child care family fee is assessed using total monthly countable gross income, family size, state median income, and the California Department of Social Services, Child Care and Development Division’s sliding fee scale.
ELIGIBILITY
Families are categorically eligible for services when receiving cash aid or previously received cash aid in the past 24 months;
Families must meet income eligibility requirements (some exceptions may apply); and
Parents must have a need for services, such as: working, seeking employment, attending school/training, seeking permanent housing and/or having a medical parental incapacity referral from a qualified professional;
Once deemed eligible, services will be granted for a minimum of 12 months.
