Description
Robert M Wilkinson Multipurpose Senior Center offers programs for people 50 years of age and older around lunch, nutrition, fitness, home delivered groceries, wellness courses, Case Management and more. Lunch is served every day M-F: 11:30am-12:30pm. A suggested fee/donation of $3.10 for those aged 60+. Non-seniors fee for lunch ia $7.52. On the second Thursday of each month, from 1-3pm, those who are registered may visit the LA Regional Food Bank to receive two bags of groceries. For Home Meals delivered straight to your door Eligible adults, 60+ years of age, who are unable to arrange their own meals or shop for themselves, may qualify for a nutritionally balanced, hot lunch, delivered Monday through Friday right to their front door. A donation of $3 per meal is suggested but not mandatory.
Adults, 60+ years of age, who cannot drive or use other public transportation are eligibile to receive a ride by calling 818-756-9304. Rides are scheduled on a first come-first served basis, and no more than one week in advance. All vehicles provided are wheelchair accessible. A small donation of $0.50 per ride and $1 per ride outside the service area is suggested.
Eligible, older adults 60+ years of age can receive case management tailored to meet their needs and involve the recipient in the planning and decision making. As a result of a comprehensive assessment, service alternatives may include: care plan development, in-home support services, information and referrals to other community resources, emergency interventions, meal services, safety equipment, medical screenings and comfort calls.
