Description
Help for families in Monterey Park, Montebello, Commerce, Downey and surrounding areas to stimulating, nurturing child care and early education programs.
MAOF programs include Head Start & Early Head Start, helping families pay for high quality early care programs, training early educators and child care providers in best practices, offering parenting classes and parent effectiveness counseling, and helping parents access community resources for themselves or their children. Any family can also get referrals to childcare providers.
ELIGIBILITY FOR SUBSIDIES: Parents must be in school, working, looking for work, learning a trade or participating in GAIN/CalWORKs.
Families with children under age 12 or older children with exceptional needs who meet income requirements and are working or going to school can qualify for free or low cost childcare.
