Alhambra residents can speak one-on-one with a mousing counselor the first four Fridays of the month. Confidential over the phone or in-person Counseling available from Housing Counselors to advise on tenant-landlord rights and obligations, including topics like ADA, security deposits, evictions, repairs, rent increases, harassment, and more. Counselors seek to help clients find the resources they need. If you have been a victim of housing discrimination the HRC team may investigate and help victims of discrimination enforce their Fair Housing rights. HRC counselors also work with tenants with disabilities to assist them in asserting their right to request accommodations or modifications in their home. They also offer on-line community education and outreach programs on fair housing laws, how to spot illegal practices, and tenant-landlord rights. Online workshops are offered weekly and are free and open to the public. HRC's monthly rental listing, Project Place, can help you locate opportunities for affordable housing, senior housing, and veteran housing throughout Los Angeles and Ventura County.
