Description
If you are a low-income, economically disadvantaged student attending or who wants to attend college, enroll in the Extended Opportunity Programs and Services (EOPS) at your local California Community College. Extended Opportunity Programs & Services (EOPS) provides guidance, motivation, support services and resources to help students complete their educational goals, including vocational certificates, associate degrees, and transfer to four-year institutions. Academic counseling, tutoring, mentoring, book vouchers, links to financial aid, and other services help students reach their full academic and personal potential. Virtual counseling is available. Eligibility requirements: Be a resident of California, or qualify for the AB540 exemption waiver; Enroll in 12 units or more at Compton College; Completed less than 70 degree applicable units and has not earned a degree; Demonstrate financial need by qualifying for the California College Promise Grant (formally the fee waiver); and demonstrate educational need. Your counselor will help you with the application process.
