Description
The Hawthorne Senior Center offers seniors to enjoy a variety of activities and classes, free hot lunches, club events, planned trips and excursions, and volunteering to help others.
Lunch is served M-F 12:00-12:30 p.m at 330 Centinela Avenue Inglewood, CA 90302. A $2 donation is suggested for meals. Call 310-970-7254 for more Food Information
Free food kits are distributed to eligible seniors on the fourth Tuesday of each month from 1 to 4 p.m. at Rogers Park located at (Rogers Park, 400 W Beach Avenue, Inglewood, CA 90302). The food kit is prepared for specific nutritional needs such as: meats, canned fruits and vegetables, dry milk, cereals and more. For registration, one needs to show a California I.D. or Driver's license, and proof of income (which can be Social Security, or Social Security Income (SSI), or pension, a bank statement, a check stub, or a benefit award letter). Home Delivered Meals are also accessible for home-bound individuals, with a suggested donation of $2.50 per meal.
Other services include Driving Classes, Legal Services, Transportation, Volunteer services, Food Distribution and Nutrition Access, as well as Exercise and Tai Chi. Call for free legal advice to make an appointment, provided by Bet Tzedek legal services (310) 349-1650.
